Using a Switch / Case Statement
This example shows how to use the switch / case statement. The switch word is used to describe what variable to check values for, and the case statements are used for each possible value. In this example we check user input (which should be a number), if the number is either 1, 2 or 3, the number is printed out. |
package com.javadb.examples; /** * * @author javadb.com */ public class Main { /** * @param args the command line arguments */ public static void main(String[] args) { if (args.length > 1) { int input = Integer.parseInt(args[0]); switch(input) { case 1: System.out.println("1 was entered"); break; case 2: System.out.println("2 was entered"); break; case 3: System.out.println("3 was entered"); break; default: System.out.println("We don't check for other numbers than 1, 2 and 3"); } } } } |
